The “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electronique, Informatique et Radiocommunications de Bordeaux” is one of the graduate national engineering schools, in France. It is also one of the oldest, as it was founded in 1920. Though an independent structure, it is closely linked to Bordeaux 1 Science and Technology University.

ENSEIRB has developed with the growth of information and communication technologies. The Computer Science Department was created in 1986 to complement the original Electronics Department and was followed in 2000 by the new Telecommunications Department. In 2002 a sandwich course was created offering an Engineering Diploma in Industrial Techniques in Networks and Telecommunications.

ENSEIRB participates in various international programmes. Each year foreign students are admitted for a 3 to 12 month period to follow courses and carry out projects.
In turn ENSEIRB students have the possibility of doing their final year project or a full year in foreign universities.

ENSEIRB faculty teachers carry out research in one of the three laboratories in parternship with Bordeaux Science and Technologies University. They all have close contacts with industry through their research contracts.
